  • 1909 AD, Strauss’s Elektra debuts in Dresden.
  • 1915 AD, transcontinental telephone service begins in US.
  • 1941 AD, Pope Pius XII elevates Hawaii’s ecclesiastical infrastructure to create Diocese of Honolulu.
  • 1942 AD, Thailand declares war on US and UK.
  • 1971 AD, Idi Amin ascends to Uganda’s presidency. Amin would later title himself King of Scotland and ally with Libya’s Colonel Ghaddafi before being forced to live out his life in exile.
  • 1981 AD, Alicia Keys born.
  • 2011 AD, Demonstrations begin in Egypt before government becomes the second to fall in the “Arab Spring” coups.
